Advancing data justice

Abstract

In 2021, the Global Partnership on AI chose The Alan Turing Institute to lead a project they had begun titled “Advancing Data Justice: Research and Practice”. Since then, thanks to additional funding from the UK Government, this project has massively expanded in scope. As a result, our global research team have been able to conduct more than 120 interviews and 12 workshops across 5 continents globally, resulting in:

  • 12 “Policy Pilot Partner Reports” each of which provide a detailed analysis of the ways in which principles of data justice may be applied in specific global contexts
  • A state-of-the-art literature review
  • An annotated bibliography and table of organisations
  • A repository of data justice case studies
